Please enjoy your holiday season and be safe! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
I’m very excited this morning as I reflect back on my life the last two years! I’ve come to learn so much about myself and understand there is more to life outside of the US. What I mean by that is this, I love the US but there are many other countries and cultures that are different from ours. We are not any better than any other country, we may just have different ideals, different types of government, leadership and people. I have traveled a great deal in my life since 1969, when I took my first long, long trip to Alaska to see my father who was stationed in the Air Force at the time. My father and mother divorced when I was quite young, One. My maternal grandmother was raising me and when I got old enough, my paternal grandmother offered to take me to Alaska to see my father, which I did. I was only 14. I went again in 1973 and he moved to Kentucky around 1978 or so. I moved to Florida and began my new life at the age of 25. Since then I’ve been to very state but one, seen most Caribbean islands on various cruises, been to Mexico, Canada and Europe, the UK and Scotland.
Once I was so stressed out physically and emotionally approaching age 62, I made the bold decision to move to another country with a lower cost of living. I researched a lot and chose Manta, Ecuador!
This new venture I’m endeavoring upon is to have some fun and share the joy I’ve found here in Manta! Come visit me!
We have been on quite the Journey since October 13, 2017! That is the date we officially moved into our condo at the Poseidon in Manta, Ecuador! AND we stayed for 5 complete months! During those months, I finally decompressed after 37 years of working during a very stressful life. I can’t say enough regarding how this move has changed me, and how much I want to share with you all about my new life. We are grateful to all who have supported me and Timón as we have taken this Journey. And I will be sharing a whole lot more here on this blog site in the next few days and more developments! Today however, I am going to celebrate my first Thanksgiving in Kentucky, after not being in Kentucky for over 37 years! So stay turned for more info the next few days, Timón and I have so much to tell you!!
Hello, big news! House Hunters International will be featuring homes from my realtor, Ryan Kelly in Manta, Ecuador. Timon and I were interviewed and considered for one of the upcoming episodes regarding my decision to retire internationally and why I chose Manta, Ecuador. We were not chosen this time, for an HHI episode with Ryan Kelly and Ecuador Shores Realty, but HHI is featuring another couple I met last summer on an upcoming episode with ESR! We ended up back in the states anyway Aug 1, 2018 for some family matters! But stayed turned for news that Timón and I are announcing November 30, 2018.
Hi everyone, I wanted to post some photos of the recent trip to the Poseidon Condo and Hotel Resort, my future new home. Timon and I enjoyed the relaxation part of the trip, the sightseeing with Juan, and the planning and shopping for furniture and appliances. I especially enjoyed my visit to the Donkey Den and meeting many of the local expats! Thank you Linda Hooks for making me feel right at home in Manta! Thanks to Ryan and Tiffany for your hospitality and storing a few items for me until I move and get settled as your neighbor! I look to move sometime in October, stay tuned! Pictures soon.
